Our client is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily shop floor operations for a growing manufacturing company in a niche, heavy-equipment industry located in LaPorte. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working closely with skilled trades, and serving as the primary point of leadership for production.

Schedule

• Initial training: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

• Long-term schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–3:30pm

• Lead and support daily production activities on the shop floor

• Communicate effectively with both hourly employees and management

• Prioritize work, adjust schedules, and adapt quickly to changing needs

• Maintain organization across jobs, materials, and workflows

• Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment

Background We’re Open To

• A developing leader with a manufacturing, machine shop, welding, or fabrication background and some people leadership experience (e.g., Team Lead), or

• A more experienced Supervisor with 4–6 years in a similar manufacturing environment

Must-Haves

• Willingness to spend the majority of time on the production floor

• Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization

• High level of organization and adaptability

• Comfortable serving as the sole supervisor for the shop

Nice to Have

• CAD/CAM programming experience

• Exposure to CNC lathes (turn-mill, live tooling) or CNC mills (3-axis, 3+2)

Compensation

• Target range: $65,000–$75,000
