Benefits Manager - Temp to Hire Opportunity

Location: St. Joseph

Compensation:  $27-$34/hr

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Benefits Manager for a dynamic temp-to-hire opportunity. This individual will be entrusted with managing the day-to-day administration of comprehensive employee benefit programs, ensuring seamless operations and adherence to regulatory compliance. This position acts as a pivotal resource for employees, addressing benefit-related inquiries and facilitating enrollment processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, ensuring accurate processing of enrollments, terminations, and life-event changes.
  • Manage retiree benefits, coordinating enrollments and handling inquiries in collaboration with carriers and vendors.
  • Act as the main point of contact for employees and retirees, providing comprehensive customer service and guidance on benefit options and eligibility.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with federal and state requirements, including ACA reporting and COBRA administration.
  • Coordinate benefit invoicing, review carrier invoices, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely submissions to Accounts Payable.
  • Administer employee leave programs, including processing requests and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support workplace safety and regulatory compliance initiatives in conjunction with external consultants.
  • Contribute to cross-functional HR activities, aiding in payroll coordination and recruitment processes.
  • Assist in budget management related to insurance and benefit programs.
  • Conduct research and provide insights to leadership on benefit programs and HR matters.
  • Undertake special projects as directed by HR leadership to enhance departmental functions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience, or an Associate Degree with five years of experience.
  • Valid vehicle operator's license is mandatory.
  • Strong attendance record and reliability are essential.
  • Preferred certifications include SHRM-CP or PHR.
