Chemical Process/Project Engineer

Job Overview:

This is a wonderful opportunity for an engineer at a fast-growing, high-purity chemical plant that produces both powdered and liquid products. The site is in expansion mode, with projects underway to install new batch reactors and batch distillation columns. It has dedicated production lines as well as toll processing capabilities. Approximately 60% of this role will involve project work on initiatives ranging from $50K to $2 million. Responsibilities include process simulation (ASPEN), PHA, developing P&IDs, managing projects, working with A&E firms, overseeing installation, and supporting process startup. About 20% of the role will focus on scaling up new products and optimizing current processes, while the remaining 20% will be dedicated to plant support. You will be part of an engineering group consisting of Process/Project Engineers, a Controls Engineer, a Reliability Engineer, maintenance technicians, and electrical technicians. All production operators are degreed Chemists. The site also offers a tailored relocation package.

 

Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering with 8+ years of in-plant experience in specialty chemicals or continuous chemical operations with experience in the design through installation of projects ranging from $250K–$5 million.
  • Candidates must have designed and simulated chemical processes, worked with A&E firms, performed PHA’s, and had some experience with DCS or PLC controls.  
  • Pluses: a PE license, CAD, OSHA, ASME, NFPA, and NEC
