Behavioral Health Clinical Director ABA

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Director of Behavioral Health to lead all clinical and operational activities for our Detroit, Michigan facility or territory. This senior leadership role is perfect for a passionate professional with a strong background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) who excels at developing teams, managing complex cases, and ensuring top-tier service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

As the Clinical Director, you'll be the primary clinical leader, responsible for:

  • Clinical and Operational Oversight: Directly manage all clinical and operational activities for the assigned facility or territory, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.

  • Staff Leadership and Development: Supervise, mentor, and train a diverse clinical team, including Assistant Clinical Directors, Supervising BCBAs, Behavior Consultants, and Behavior Technicians. You'll be responsible for ongoing performance monitoring and conducting performance evaluations in collaboration with HR.

  • Case Management: Oversee all clinical cases, ensuring client supervision, staff support, and parent training are conducted according to the highest standards. You will also manage caseloads and billable hours to meet all regulatory and company guidelines.

  • Problem Resolution: Act as a key point of contact for staff and client concerns, handling challenging situations with professionalism and in collaboration with other administrative teams.

  • Clinical Program Design: Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments to design and maintain high-quality, evidence-based treatment programs.

  • Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with the Regional Clinical Director and other administrative teams to ensure clinical coverage, address facility needs, and maintain a safe and productive environment. You will also coordinate staff training and assessment completion by other clinical staff.

  • Compliance: Maintain strict client privacy in accordance with all HIPAA regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Active BCBA certification and LBA licensure are required.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the ABA field or working with children with developmental disabilities.

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with both staff and clients.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities to resolve administrative issues and conflicts.

  • The ability to delegate and supervise tasks effectively.

  • A good understanding of budget and resource planning is a plus.

  • A flexible schedule to support the changing needs of the clinical team and territory.
