Position: Pharmacist

Location: Philadelphia PA

 

Work Hours-Monday -Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM/ Closed Weekends and most major federal holidays

Description

Primary Role: You will be partnering with the Pharmacy Manager, preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients. The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions: 

·       Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality 

·        Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster 

·        Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration 

·        Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice. 

·        Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient 

·        Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed 

·        Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing 

·        Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures 

·        Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated 

·        Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies 

·        Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations      and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.

·        Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.

·        Other duties as necessary

Requirements

Required Education & Skills: 

· Current License to practice (PharmD) in Pennsylvania

· Excellent oral, written skills

Experience:

· Previous leadership role helpful

· Previous experience utilizing patient management system 

· 4 years related pharmacy experience

Physical Requirements: 

· Standing for prolonged periods of time

· Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls

Fine Motor Skills 

Skills and Certifications 4-5 years retail pharmacy experience and min. 3 years pharmacy management experience preferred.Great leadership, communication and management skills
