Location: Travel required across USA, Canada, Mexico, and potentially international locationsCompensation: $39.87 – $59.80 per hour (OT eligible + site premiums)
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Service Department, supporting the inspection, evaluation, repair, and maintenance of material handling and mining equipment installations. This role serves as both a hands-on technician in the field and a key technical resource for office and engineering teams. You will help identify and implement solutions for equipment performance, recommend and source spare or replacement parts, and ensure installations meet quality and safety standards.
This position is open due to the planned retirement of a long-time team member and includes a robust onboarding process with an expected learning curve of approximately 3+ years.
Provide remote and in-office technical support related to material handling and mining equipment.
Conduct on-site inspections and create detailed site reports with operational recommendations.
Evaluate assembly and installation methods to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
Recommend and assist with sourcing of spare and replacement parts for equipment systems.
Liaise professionally with customers and internal teams to ensure technical needs are met.
Communicate customer feedback to engineering and suggest product improvements.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment across all projects and client interactions.
Suggest updates to technical drawings and documentation when required.
Report on customer activities, service outcomes, and sales opportunities.
Represent the company with professionalism and technical excellence on-site and off-site.
Follow all company policies and procedures while executing duties in the field or office.
Travel required 40%–50% of the time
Typical site assignments range from 1 week to 3 weeks, followed by home-based time
Must be flexible with domestic and occasional international travel
No travel restrictions permitted
Minimum 5 years of field experience with construction, repairs, and inspections of bulk material handling and/or mining equipment
Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, field instruments, and system performance
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, work plans, and schematics
Comfortable with troubleshooting and offering technical recommendations
Proficient in MS Office and technical English communication
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is a plus
Work is performed at mining and industrial sites, often in remote locations
May require extended stays at job sites and weekend work during key project phases
Field conditions may include exposure to weather, machinery, and physical activity
