Overview:
A prestigious hedge fund based in New York City is seeking a resourceful and proactive Jr. Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its corporate office. This role requires a hands-on professional who takes the initiative, solves problems quickly, and ensures that the work environment runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee maintenance, repair, and improvement projects across office facilities
- Serve as a hands-on troubleshooter for issues related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general office infrastructure
- Manage security, access control, and emergency protocols
- Coordinate vendor relationships (cleaning, repairs, deliveries, etc.) and evaluate performance regularly
- Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and facility-related equipment
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and functionality of office and communal
spaces
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and building codes
- Plan and execute moves, setups, or space reconfigurations as needed
- Act as the go-to resource for staff facility-related requests and concerns
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in facilities or operations management, ideally in financial services or corporate environments
- Strong working knowledge of building systems and general repairs
- Comfortable managing vendors and negotiating contracts
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remain composed under pressure
- Must be based in or willing to commute daily to Manhattan
