Role Summary
The Tax Senior is a critical mid-level professional who manages the day-to-day progress of tax compliance and consulting projects. This role requires a high degree of technical proficiency in federal and state taxation, along with the ability to manage client relationships and internal workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Execution & Compliance

Preparation & Review: Prepare and perform initial reviews of complex federal and multi-state tax returns for individuals, corporations (C-Corp and S-Corp), partnerships, and trusts.

Tax Provisioning: Assist with the calculation and documentation of income tax provisions (ASC 740) for corporate clients.

Research: Conduct technical tax research on complex issues and provide written summaries or recommendations for tax planning.

Audit Support: Assist in representing clients before the IRS or state/local taxing authorities during audits.
Project & Team Leadership

Workflow Management: Oversee the status of multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines (such as April 15th and October 15th) are met.

Staff Mentorship: Supervise Tax Associates and Interns, providing "on-the-job" training and reviewing their work for accuracy and technical soundness.

Quality Control: Ensure all work papers and tax returns adhere to firm standards and regulatory requirements.
Client Relations

Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for clients to gather necessary data and explain tax filing requirements.

Planning: Identify opportunities for tax savings or process improvements for clients based on their financial data.
