This company manufactures petrochemical products in a safety-focused chemical plant environment. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Project Manager / Coordinator will lead capital and debottlenecking projects, coordinate contractors and turnarounds (from a capital projects standpoint), and manage project scope, schedules, and costs. Projects in this unit typically range from $100K - $500K with occasional larger projects. This person will support turnarounds from a capital project standpoint as well.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including leadership of capital and debottlenecking projects in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment.
- Experience developing project scope, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules from project definition through implementation and close-out.
- Strong vendor and contractor management experience, including bid evaluation, contract coordination, cost control, and invoice review.
- Experience coordinating turnarounds or major capital projects while supporting day-to-day contractor needs.
- Ability to align Process Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, vendors, and contractors across the full project lifecycle.
- PMP or a similar project management certification preferred.
- A HUGE plus would be polymerization experience
- Local Houston-area candidates preferred; travel is less than 10%.
