Responsibilities:

Lead the maintenance department for a Houston-area refinery with ownership of maintenance planning and scheduling, the maintenance budget, contractor strategy, reliability improvement, and workforce management. Build and maintain a schedule-ready backlog, coordinate weekly schedules, develop detailed work packages, prioritize work based on safety and operational risk, and support shutdowns, outages, and turnarounds. Manage maintenance spending and contractor performance while partnering with Inspection and Reliability to convert repair recommendations and corrective actions into executable work. This role works closely with the Maintenance Superintendent, who leads daily field execution, contractor supervision, craft coordination, emergency response, and schedule expediting. Together, the two roles provide coverage and continuity during absences, outages, and turnarounds while maintaining clear ownership between planning and field execution.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years of maintenance experience in refining, petrochemical, terminal, or another heavy industrial environment
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership or supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, fixed equipment, piping systems, and refinery maintenance practices
  • Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, backlog management, contract maintenance resources, and CMMS systems
  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements, Process Safety Management, lockout/tagout, and safe-work permitting
