Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the tax return process, including client communication, meetings, preparation of workpapers, and tax return review.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and case law that impact tax clients.
  • Conduct tax research as necessary and effectively communicate both routine and complex tax issues to clients.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior staff members.
Qualifications:
  • Must hold a CPA license.
  • Possess 7+ years of relevant experience in public accounting.
  • Have at least 3 years of supervisory and training experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns, including specialized partnership allocations and multi-state filings.
  • Extensive experience in tax planning.
  • Familiarity with not-for-profit, estate, and trust work is a plus.
  • Proficient in 1031 exchanges and 754 adjustments.
  • Skilled in using QuickBooks, with additional experience in Lacerte, Smart Vault, and CCH considered advantageous.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong ability to independently research and resolve tax issues.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with tight project deadlines and the ability to multitask.
