Title: Pathologists’ Assistant
Location: Near Atlanta, GA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift (hours may vary)

Overview

A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a Pathologists’ Assistant to join a high-performing pathology team supporting a busy clinical environment. This role offers strong mentorship and is open to both new graduates (ASCP-certified) and experienced professionals.

Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform gross examination, dissection, and dictation of surgical specimens, including complex cases
• Prepare and document tissue samples for histologic processing and microscopic evaluation
• Assist pathologists during autopsies and intraoperative procedures (e.g., frozen sections)
• Accurately document specimen data, including clinical history and handling procedures
• Ensure proper specimen accessioning and workflow efficiency
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance protocols and laboratory standards
• Collaborate with pathologists, lab staff, and clinical teams to support diagnostic processes
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper handling and disposal of biological materials

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
• Completion of an accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program
• ASCP certification required (new grads encouraged to apply)
• Strong understanding of anatomic pathology techniques and laboratory workflows
• Ability to perform grossing on a range of specimen types (training/support available)
• Experience with laboratory systems (EPIC preferred)
