Our client is an established and growing healthcare diagnostics organization focused on advancing patient care through innovative genetic and genomic testing solutions.
The organization provides a broad portfolio of diagnostic services supporting areas including reproductive health, women's health, prenatal testing, oncology, rare disease, and other specialized clinical applications.
We are seeking a Women's Health Sales Representative to lead business development and territory growth across the New York market.
This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, expanding relationships with healthcare providers and institutions, growing existing accounts, and identifying new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in prenatal and women's health diagnostics, established relationships with OB/GYNs, and a proven track record of sales success.
Position Overview
The Sales Representative will be responsible for the overall commercial performance and growth of the assigned territory.
Working closely with regional sales leadership, this individual will develop and execute a regional business plan based on market opportunities, customer needs, competitive intelligence, and business analytics.
The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of independence and ownership while serving as a strategic resource to sales leadership and developing long-term relationships with key healthcare stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans designed to achieve and exceed territory revenue objectives.
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OB/GYNs, genetic counselors, laboratory directors, healthcare providers, and institutional stakeholders.
- Proactively manage existing accounts to drive retention, customer satisfaction, and additional revenue growth.
- Expand the customer base through targeted prospecting and consultative selling.
- Develop compelling value propositions based on customer needs and clinical applications.
- Conduct ongoing market analysis and competitive research to identify new opportunities.
- Analyze territory performance and business intelligence to refine sales strategies and tactics.
- Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, activity, and forecasting information within Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
- Accurately forecast territory performance and communicate market trends, opportunities, and challenges to regional leadership.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive territory business plan.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to sales leadership regarding market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and territory strategy.
- Maintain strong technical and market knowledge of genetic testing and its applications in reproductive and women's health.
- Educate healthcare professionals regarding appropriate utilization and clinical applications of genetic testing solutions.
- Deliver technical presentations, scientific discussions, seminars, webinars, and product demonstrations.
- Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support commercial strategy and future product development.
- Collaborate with marketing and cross-functional teams on educational materials, applications, and other market-facing content.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and customer service throughout the sales process.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory, with travel expected up to 50%.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required; degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of successful genetic testing sales experience.
- At least 3 years of verifiable sales success, demonstrating achievement of sales goals, effective negotiation, and consultative selling.
- Strong experience calling on OB/GYNs in the prenatal and women's health diagnostics market.
- Demonstrated understanding of reproductive and women's health diagnostic applications.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with senior healthcare stakeholders.
- Strong consultative and strategic selling skills.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and convert prospects into long-term customer relationships.
- Strong scientific and technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex information to clinical audiences.
- Salesforce or comparable CRM experience.
- Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-directed with a strong work ethic, initiative, and ownership mentality.
- Ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
Preferred Experience
- Direct experience selling prenatal genetic testing or women's health diagnostics.
- Established relationships with OB/GYN practices, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, children's hospitals, and academic medical centers.
- Experience working with genetic counselors and laboratory professionals.
- Experience selling genomic or molecular diagnostic testing.
- Existing relationships within the New York healthcare market.
- Proven history of consistently exceeding sales quotas.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a results-driven healthcare sales professional with direct reproductive or women's health experience.
Candidates should bring an established network within the OB/GYN and prenatal diagnostics community, combined with the ability to sell scientifically complex testing solutions in a consultative environment.
Candidates with general healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical device sales experience without meaningful OB/GYN or reproductive health experience will not be considered a strong fit.
