Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cytology Manager with strong expertise in Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization (FISH) to join a high-complexity, CLIA-certified laboratory. This individual will oversee cytology operations while actively performing and reviewing advanced diagnostic testing, including UroVysion FISH analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microscopic evaluation of gynecologic (Pap smears) and non-gynecologic specimens
• Interpret and analyze FISH assays (UroVysion preferred) using fluorescent microscopy
• Oversee and manage cytology and FISH technologists, providing leadership and guidance
• Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and applicable regulatory standards
• Review slides for quality, accuracy, and completeness
• Maintain and monitor quality assurance and quality control programs
• Support molecular pathology operations as needed
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory leadership to ensure diagnostic accuracy
• Communicate technical issues and implement solutions as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a biological or related scientific field
• ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) required
• Minimum of 5 years of cytology experience
• Required: Hands-on experience with FISH (UroVysion strongly preferred)
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a laboratory setting
• Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, CMS, and state regulatory requirements
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
