Job Title: Vice President of Sales - Pathology
About the Opportunity
A specialty cancer diagnostics organization is seeking an experienced Vice President of Sales – Pathology Services to lead commercial growth across its pathology services division.
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on sales strategy, team leadership, new business development, strategic accounts, and hospital partnerships, with a particular focus on community oncology practices and regional/community hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy to drive revenue, testing volume, and market growth.
- Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Establish sales goals, territory strategies, pipeline expectations, and performance accountability.
- Personally support major account pursuits and hospital partnerships.
- Build relationships with oncologists, hematologists, pathologists, laboratory directors, practice administrators, and hospital leadership.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and increase testing utilization.
- Partner cross-functionally with clinical, operations, finance, and marketing teams.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM discipline, and visibility into sales performance.
Qualifications
- Significant progressive sales experience in diagnostic laboratory services, pathology, oncology diagnostics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience managing teams and driving revenue growth.
- Proven experience selling clinical laboratory services to physician practices and hospitals.
- Strong track record recruiting, coaching, and holding sales teams accountable.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and closing strategic accounts.
- Strong understanding of reference laboratory business models and clinical laboratory services.
- Established relationships within community oncology, hospitals, and/or pathology groups preferred.
- Experience in hematopathology, hematologic oncology, or specialty pathology preferred.
- Willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings, field coaching, and company activities.
