Field Service Engineer – International Custom Equipment
Overview
We’re hiring a Field Service Engineer to install, service, and support for precision-built equipment used by some of the world’s top manufacturers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role with 70% travel. When not traveling, you'll work from our Roselle, IL facility, assisting with operations
Responsibilities
- Service, install and commission custom machinery at customer sites—domestic and international
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
- Train customer staff on equipment usage, maintenance, and safety protocols
- Log service visits, document technical issues, and share field insights with internal teams
- Support in-house operations during non-travel weeks (assembly, testing, prep)
- Represent the company with professionalism and strong communication during site visits
- Spot opportunities for service contracts, upgrade work, or process improvements
Requirements
- AAS, BS, or technical certification in mechanical, industrial, or electrical technology preferred
- 3-10+ years of experience in field service, equipment installation, or maintenance roles in manufacturing settings
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electronics
- Ability to interpret schematics and diagnose system-level issues independently
- Experience working with capital equipment or electro-mechanical machinery
- Comfortable traveling up to 70% of the time (including international)
- Self-driven and capable of working independently
