Corporate Hiring Solutions (CHS) is currently recruiting a Maintenance Apprentice for a growing manufacturing facility in the Decatur, Alabama area. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering hands-on training, career advancement, and the unique opportunity to learn directly from an experienced Maintenance Technician who will be retiring within the next year.

Compensation
- $20.00–$27.00+ per hour (DOE)
- Weekly Pay through CHS
- Attendance Bonus Opportunities while on assignment
- Performance Bonus Opportunities upon direct hire
- Full-Time | 1st Shift
Position Summary
The Maintenance Apprentice will work alongside an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician, receiving one-on-one mentorship while learning to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial manufacturing equipment.
This position is designed for someone who enjoys solving mechanical problems, working with their hands, and learning from experienced professionals. As your skills grow, you'll assume greater responsibility with the goal of becoming a fully independent Maintenance Technician.
What You'll Learn
- Preventative maintenance procedures
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
- Basic industrial electrical systems
- Motors, bearings, belts, chains, and drive systems
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Reading blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals
- Safe operation of industrial equipment
- Welding and fabrication basics (if applicable)
- Proper use of maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment
- Equipment inspections and documentation
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with preventative maintenance on production equipment.
- Learn to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
- Perform equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Assist with replacing worn machine components.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized maintenance shop.
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
- Learn from experienced maintenance personnel while developing technical skills.
- Demonstrate initiative, dependability, and a willingness to grow.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical school, trade school, or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- 0–2 years of industrial maintenance or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting mindset.
- Willingness to learn and accept coaching.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crouch, and work around industrial equipment.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
