Industrial Maintenance Technician – 3rd Shift
Corporate Hiring Solutions (CHS) is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician for a growing manufacturing facility in the Decatur, Alabama area. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturer that values safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Compensation
- $32.00–$38.00+ per hour (DOE)
- Additional $1.50/hour Shift Differential for 3rd Shift
- Weekly Pay through CHS

Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing equipment failures, and repairing production machinery to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. This position requires a highly motivated, self-directed individual capable of independently troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues during off-shift operations.
The successful candidate must possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills in addition to mechanical maintenance experience and be comfortable working with industrial production equipment manufactured in the United States.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system failures.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems including motors, motor controls, relays, contactors, sensors, limit switches, VFDs, and control circuits.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Repair, replace, and adjust machine components to maintain optimal production performance.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
- Perform equipment inspections and identify potential failures before they occur.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Work safely while following all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
- Coordinate with production personnel to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Maintain an organized maintenance shop and ensure proper inventory of commonly used repair parts.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience is required.
- Experience with industrial production equipment and automated manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures without direct supervision.
- Experience with:
- Industrial electrical systems
- Motors and motor controls
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, chains, belts, and drive systems
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- PLC troubleshooting experience is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing multiple maintenance issues during an overnight shift.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
- Comfortable working around industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed to support production.
