Job Summary
The Batcher is responsible for accurately measuring, weighing, mixing, and preparing raw materials according to established formulas, production schedules, and quality standards. This position plays an important role in ensuring batches are produced safely, accurately, and consistently while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure and weigh raw materials according to specific formulas and production requirements.
- Operate batching, mixing, and processing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow production recipes, batch sheets, work instructions, and quality specifications.
- Monitor materials throughout the batching process to ensure proper consistency and quality.
- Accurately record batch information, material usage, production quantities, and any adjustments.
- Inspect raw materials for quality and report damaged, contaminated, or incorrect materials.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory of materials used during production.
- Perform basic equipment checks and report mechanical or safety issues to management or maintenance.
- Keep the production area, equipment, and workstations clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines.
- Work closely with production, quality, and warehouse teams to keep production running efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, production, batching, mixing, or material-handling experience preferred.
- Basic math skills with the ability to accurately measure and calculate quantities.
- Ability to read and follow formulas, batch sheets, and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle raw materials.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
