Corporate Hiring Solutions (CHS) is recruiting Shipping & Receiving for a leading manufacturing facility in LaVergne, Tennessee. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established manufacturing operation that manages a high-volume flow of inbound and outbound freight.
This is an active shipping and receiving environment, with approximately 50–60 trucks shipping out each day and a similar volume of trucks received. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Compensation
- $21.00–$23.50 per hour (DOE)
- Additional $1.50/hour shift differential for 3rd shift

Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving is responsible for coordinating and documenting the movement of materials, products, and freight entering and leaving the facility. This position works closely with drivers, carriers, warehouse personnel, production, purchasing, and other departments to ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate, properly documented, safely handled, and processed efficiently.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a high-volume shipping and receiving operation, maintaining accurate records, verifying shipment information, resolving discrepancies, and helping keep freight moving efficiently.
Essential Responsibilities
Shipping
- Prepare and process outbound shipments in accordance with customer and company requirements.
- Verify product quantities, part numbers, labels, packaging, and shipping documentation prior to shipment.
- Prepare and review bills of lading, packing lists, shipping labels, and other required transportation documents.
- Coordinate with carriers and drivers regarding pickup schedules, dock assignments, and shipment requirements.
- Ensure outbound loads are accurately documented and released according to established procedures.
- Communicate with production, warehouse, customer service, and other departments regarding shipping schedules and priorities.
- Verify that shipments are properly staged and ready for carrier pickup.
- Assist with resolving shipping discrepancies, shortages, damages, or documentation issues.
- Maintain accurate records of outbound shipments and carrier activity.
Receiving
- Receive incoming materials, supplies, components, and other shipments.
- Verify incoming quantities and materials against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other documentation.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, incorrect materials, or other discrepancies.
- Accurately record incoming shipments in the company's inventory or warehouse management system.
- Label, organize, and stage received materials for production or warehouse storage.
- Coordinate with purchasing, production, warehouse, and other departments regarding incoming materials.
- Report damaged, missing, or incorrect shipments promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain accurate receiving records and assist with inventory accuracy.
General Warehouse & Logistics Responsibilities
- Assist with coordinating the daily flow of inbound and outbound truck traffic.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment safely, as authorized.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Follow established safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA requirements.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, coworkers, supervisors, and other departments.
- Prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Perform additional warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-handling duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, logistics, inventory, or manufacturing preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume shipping and receiving environment is a plus.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred.
- Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse, inventory, or shipping systems preferred.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret packing slips, bills of lading, purchase orders, shipping documents, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, coworkers, and internal departments.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, squat, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Ability to work safely around forklifts, trucks, warehouse equipment, and manufacturing operations.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate material-handling equipment as required.
