Role Overview

The Centralized Scheduler / Workforce Planning Manager is a newly established, strategic operational role responsible for centralizing workforce scheduling and labor demand planning across The Clean Company’s multi-site operations. The objective of this role is to proactively align field labor supply with project demand, enhance labor utilization, minimize overtime and subcontractor spend, and reduce execution risk that can impact revenue and customer delivery excellence.

Reporting directly to senior operational leadership and partnering closely with Regional Vice Presidents and Area Managers, this role serves as the functional owner of the company’s internally developed Supply & Demand Planning Platform — a core system that enables data-driven labor planning across the organization.

  • Strategic Labor Alignment: Ensure the right personnel are deployed to the right projects at the right time to support safe, high-quality execution.
  • Enhanced Utilization & Visibility: Deliver enterprise-wide insights into workforce capacity, constraints, and forecast accuracy.
  • Cost Optimization: Reduce reliance on excessive overtime and subcontracting by optimizing internal labor scheduling.
  • Operational Readiness: Improve forecast turnaround and execution readiness through disciplined planning cycles.
  • Communication & Alignment: Strengthen communication between field operations and leadership to enhance execution predictability and scalability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead centralized scheduling for all project labor assignments across operating areas.
  • Translate project demand forecasts into executable staffing plans, balancing internal capacity with operational requirements.
  • Evaluate tradeoffs between overtime, cross-area deployment, and subcontractor utilization to maintain cost-effective execution.
  • Maintain real-time workforce capacity visibility, including skills, certifications, and constraint tracking.
  • Facilitate daily and weekly workforce planning cadences with Area Managers and Regional VPs to assess capacity risk and execution readiness.
  • Act as the power user and business owner of the internally developed Supply & Demand Planning Platform, driving adoption, enhancements, and data integrity.
  • Support development of executive-level reporting on utilization trends, coverage gaps, risk exposure, and performance against workforce plans.
  • Partner with operations and leadership to identify systemic workforce risks and recommend mitigation strategies prior to execution impacts.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Proven experience in workforce planning, scheduling, resource management, or operational planning in a field services, project-driven, or multi-site environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data tools (advanced Excel required; experience with platforms such as Alteryx preferred).
  • Exceptional influence and communication skills with the ability to foster alignment across operational stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity and build scalable processes and governance frameworks.

Preferred:

  • Experience within industrial services, environmental services, or operations where safety, compliance, and execution reliability are core priorities.
  • Familiarity with workforce planning systems or analytics platforms tied to labor forecasting and capacity planning.
