Litigation Paralegal (Trial and Litigation Group)
A California-based established law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal who will support the firm’s Trial and Litigation Group, which maintains a robust practice focused on complex litigation matters, including constitutional law, civil rights, land use disputes, eminent domain, class actions, crisis litigation, and related proceedings.
The Litigation Group is actively engaged in all phases of litigation—from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal—in both state and federal courts. This role is primarily on-site with a limited remote component.
Litigation Paralegals work closely with attorneys and litigation teams to proactively manage cases from inception through resolution. Responsibilities include drafting and revising legal documents, managing discovery and document productions, supporting depositions and hearings, and assisting with trial preparation.
This position requires the ability to meet an annual billable hour requirement, work extended hours as needed, travel for case support when required, provide excellent internal and external client service, and maintain a reliable and punctual work schedule.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage case files and oversee litigation matters from inception through trial, settlement, or appeal

Draft, review, and revise pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents

Maintain discovery logs, indices, and production tracking

Support and manage document productions, including eDiscovery workflows

Assist with deposition, hearing, and trial preparation, including exhibit management and witness preparation materials

Cite-check briefs and filings, including legal and factual citations

Conduct document review and coordinate with litigation support teams for database management using iPro or similar platforms

Perform legal research using Westlaw and/or Lexis

Ensure compliance with applicable court rules, procedures, and deadlines

Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards

Collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work and bill as a paralegal under California Business & Professions Code §6450

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum of five (5) years of recent litigation paralegal experience with a California law firm or in-house legal department

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office / Office 365, with strong Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, data analysis)

Demonstrated experience managing document storage, retrieval, production, and eDiscovery processes

Proficiency with eDiscovery platforms and Adobe Acrobat Pro

Strong legal research skills using Westlaw (preferred) and/or Lexis

Thorough knowledge of litigation procedures, rules of court, and local rules

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
