What You Will Be Doing
- Custom Tooling Layouts: Designing specialized industrial thermal systems and specialized environmental equipment utilizing 2D AutoCAD for custom manufacturing orders.
- Production Drafting: Producing an exhaustive range of comprehensive engineering drawings, including detailed fabrication layouts, structural assembly schematics, and accurate bills of materials (BOMs).
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Partnering directly with production floor supervisors and machinists to ensure engineering specifications perfectly align with internal manufacturing capabilities.
- Strategic 3D Modeling: Occasionally developing auxiliary 3D AutoCAD models or geometric renderings to support specific customer design reviews and unique project constraints.
- Lifecycle Management: Managing diverse design scopes across the core product portfolio, ensuring all strict structural, thermal, and performance criteria are met.
- Continuous Improvement: Reviewing and refining historical legacy drawings to enhance field service efficiency, optimize material yields, and drive down manufacturing cycle times.
What We Are Looking For
- 2D AutoCAD Pedigree: A minimum of 3 years of fast, accurate, and completely independent drafting experience using 2D AutoCAD systems in a manufacturing setting.
- Industrial Design Background: Proven mechanical design familiarity dealing with heavy equipment, industrial HVAC, ductwork, piping configurations, or fluid/thermal dynamics.
- Practical Problem-Solving: A grounded, manufacturing-minded engineering approach. You design with the fabricator and welder in mind, avoiding impractical "on-screen-only" solutions.
- Employment Stability: A reliable, consistent professional history that showcases a commitment to quality and longevity across past employers.
- Location Proximity: Permanent residency situated within a dependable 45-minute daily driving radius of the Washington County / Greater Milwaukee area.
