Our client, a nationally recognized AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join its highly regarded Antitrust & Competition Practice Group in Washington, DC. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on sophisticated antitrust matters spanning high-stakes litigation, government investigations, merger reviews, regulatory enforcement actions, and strategic business counseling.
The successful candidate will collaborate with leading antitrust practitioners while advising major corporations on complex competition issues before federal and state regulatory agencies and in courts across the country.
Candidate Profile
- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record
- Active Bar admission in applicable jurisdiction in good standing
- 3+ years of substantive antitrust practice in a law firm, government agency, or comparable environment
- Strong background in antitrust litigation, merger review matters, and government investigations
- Familiarity with investigations and enforcement proceedings involving the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and state attorneys general
- Deep understanding of antitrust law, enforcement trends, and competition policy
- Ability to analyze complex business and legal issues while providing practical, business-oriented guidance
- Proven litigation, advocacy, research, and analytical capabilities
- Strong drafting skills involving motions, briefing, memoranda, investigative submissions, and client advisories
- Confidence managing sophisticated matters with increasing levels of responsibility and autonomy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to client service
- Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and strong problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex antitrust litigation matters involving federal and state antitrust laws
- Defend clients in government investigations involving allegations of price-fixing, monopolization, market allocation, and other competition-related issues
- Assist clients through merger investigations and regulatory review processes
- Advise businesses regarding antitrust compliance, competitive practices, joint ventures, distribution arrangements, and non-compete issues
- Draft motions, briefs, agency submissions, presentations, and strategic counseling memoranda
- Work directly with clients, regulators, and opposing counsel on sophisticated competition matters
- Develop and deliver compliance programs, training sessions, and risk-management guidance for corporate clients and executive leadership teams
- Monitor legal developments and enforcement trends to provide proactive client counseling

Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Salary: $215,000 - $355,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and class year.
