Top AmLaw 100 firm is seeking an experienced tax attorney to join our Taxation Practice Group, with a primary focus on state and local tax (SALT) matters.

We will consider qualified candidates for the following office locations: Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, or Washington DC.

Qualified candidates will have substantial experience advising clients on all facets of multistate taxation, including handling state tax controversy matters (income and sales tax), providing tax planning and structuring guidance, and addressing remediation of state tax exposure in transactions and client advisory work. Familiarity with unclaimed property and escheatment matters is a plus.

We are seeking a client-focused, team-oriented attorney with 5 to 9 years of relevant experience in state and local tax (SALT) matters. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong client relationship, project management, and senior review skills, along with a proven ability to thrive in dynamic and complex environments. A positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong work ethic are essential.

To be eligible, candidates must hold a JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school and maintain active, good standing membership in the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where they are admitted to practice. Timely admission to the Bar corresponding to the office of hire will be a condition of employment.

The expected salary range for this position is between $310,000 - $370,000.

Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, etc.
