Our client, a prestigious AmLaw 100 national law firm, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join its Privacy & Cyber practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated litigation matters involving data privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging regulatory issues. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage complex matters with confidence, and collaborate closely with experienced litigators on high-impact cases across industries.
Candidate Profile
- JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
- Active Bar Admission in applicable jurisdiction, in good standing
- 3-6 years of substantive experience with complex commercial litigation, arbitration and case management
- Significant experience managing day-to-day litigation activities, including fact investigations and case strategy development
- Proven ability to draft pleadings such as answers, motions to dismiss, and motions for summary judgment
- Experience conducting and defending depositions and negotiating with opposing counsel
- Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills
- Comfort managing client relationships and handling matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to independently manage smaller projects while contributing meaningfully to larger, complex matters
- Experience litigating matters involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or other privacy-related statutes is a plus
- Federal clerkship experience preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation, from initial investigation through resolution
- Lead factual investigations and develop litigation strategies in privacy and cyber-related matters
- Draft and argue pleadings, dispositive motions, and related submissions
- Conduct and defend depositions and manage discovery processes
- Negotiate with opposing counsel and participate in settlement discussions
- Coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure efficient and strategic case management
- Assist with workflow management on larger matters while maintaining ownership of assigned cases
