Location: Charles City, Iowa
Salary: $35-40/hour
Job Summary of the Maintenance Technician: The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for disassemble, repairing, and reassembling production machines used at the plant. The Maintenance Tech will also be involved in special project duties.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:
- Troubleshoots all manual and CNC equipment to identify problem & perform repairs.
§ Performs preventative maintenance on all production equipment as specified in the work order instructions.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for accountability and future reference.
§ Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
§ Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
§ Knowledge of programmable logic controls.
§ Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair work on plant equipment and CNC’s.
§ Work with voltage of 240v-480v.
§ Diagnose and troubleshoot motor controls on 3-phase equipment and control circuits.
§ Troubleshoots and repairs machine malfunctions and mechanical problems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand schematics.
- Designs and implements needed controls for new or refurbish projects.
- Helps initiate equipment procedures when updates have been instigated.
- Repairs equipment by removing defective parts, replacing with new or usable, test to see if repair was adequate.
- Responsible for identifying parts needed for repair and getting quotes to purchase the parts.
- Relocates machinery when needed.
- Makes repairs to various units within the plant such as heating, cooling, test equipment.
- Helps in other areas of maintenance when needed.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide junior team members or coordinate with external contractors effectively.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Maintenance Technician:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· 2- 4 years vocational training or a minimum of 6 years’ experience in a related maintenance field.
· Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, blueprints, correspondence and memos.
· Prior maintenance troubleshooting experience with production equipment.
