Location: This full-time role is based in either our San Mateo or Campbell, California office. It starts in-office, with the possibility of a future hybrid arrangement depending on experience, performance, and trust built over time.

Note: Must be admitted to and in good standing with the California State Bar. Family law experience is strongly preferred, though strong civil litigation attorneys with transferable experience will also be considered.

Job Description

  • Represent clients in family law matters including custody, support, property division, and restraining order matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, settlement agreements, and other legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and develop practical, case-specific legal strategies
  • Appear in court and advocate for clients in hearings, conferences, and other proceedings
  • Negotiate settlements and help resolve disputes efficiently and effectively
  • Manage deadlines, billable work, and multiple active matters in a fast-paced practice
  • Work closely with clients, experts, consultants, and internal team members
  • Provide clear, strategic, and compassionate counsel throughout the life of each case

Qualifications

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active California Bar license and good standing required
  • Family law experience strongly preferred
  • Civil litigation experience with strong transferable skills may also be considered
  • Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and courtroom skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and case management ability
  • Able to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines consistently
  • Comfortable working in an in-office environment with potential for future hybrid flexibility
  • Ability to meet a 125 billable hour per month expectation
