Job Overview:
This opportunity is with a well-established engineering consulting firm seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join their growing Texas team in a hybrid role based in Houston, Dallas, or Austin. In this position, you will support the design and analysis of fire and life safety systems across a diverse range of projects such as commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, and industrial manufacturing environments. The role offers strong exposure to technical design, code consulting, and performance-based fire protection solutions, while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering and architecture teams. You would help develop fire alarm, suppression, and smoke control systems while assisting with life safety planning, fire hazard analysis, and code compliance strategies. This is a great opportunity for an engineer looking to build deeper technical expertise while gaining exposure to high-profile projects and experienced senior engineers in the field.
Preferred Locations:
This is a hybrid role based in Texas (Houston, Dallas, or Austin), ideally for someone who is local to the region or has ties to Texas. However, candidates outside of these areas are still encouraged to apply, as we can check whether the company has another suitable office location closer to you.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and currently pursuing, or planning to pursue, EIT certification and a PE license.

3+ years of experience in fire protection engineering or closely related design/consulting work

Strong knowledge of NFPA, ICC, and building/fire codes with experience in fire alarm, suppression, or life safety system design
