Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to perform essential surface preparation, material mixing, coating application, and finishing processes on manufactured products. This role focuses on achieving consistent, high-quality results while strictly following safety regulations, quality standards, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate specialized equipment including pressure and gravity-fed sprayers, mixers, solvent recovery systems, lift tables, air hoists, and non-sparking hand tools to support efficient coating activities.
· Calculate and mix precise quantities of coatings, lacquers, solvents, and thinners using standard formulas and established procedures.
· Inspect workpieces for surface imperfections such as scale, cracks, shade variations, or unpainted areas and make necessary equipment adjustments for accurate application.
· Evaluate finished surfaces for proper coverage, paint flow, color accuracy, thickness, and viscosity.
· Perform cleaning and maintenance on coating booths, mixing areas, filters, and spray equipment in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines; training is provided.
· Maintain accurate time and production records while reviewing schedules to meet job completion targets.
· Collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional teams to resolve coating issues, recommend process improvements, and enhance efficiency, quality, equipment performance, and cost control.
· Actively support quality systems, environmental health and safety policies, core values, and 5S organization standards within the department.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination.
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write basic correspondence, and communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
· Solid basic math skills including fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
· Strong common-sense reasoning to carry out detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions and handle problems involving a few concrete variables.
· No certificates or licenses required.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
The role involves regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moderate to loud noise levels, and seasonal high temperatures. Employees must be capable of standing for extended periods, reaching, handling tools, and regularly lifting heavy items.
