Paralegal - Medical Malpractice
RESPONSIBILITIES
Litigation & Case Management

Organize and maintain case files, including medical records and other litigation documents.

Follow up on subpoenas and communicate with providers to obtain necessary records to support the litigation team.

Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.

Prepare, serve, and track subpoenas while monitoring compliance and coordinating document production.

Assist attorneys with case preparation, document review, and case organization.
Discovery & Litigation Support

Assist with all phases of discovery, including drafting requests and responses, organizing productions, and managing document review.

Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, including court dates, discovery deadlines, and internal milestones.

Support motion practice and trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness materials, and trial binders.

Prepare presentations and case-related materials, including PowerPoint presentations for litigation support.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Communicate with clients, courts, vendors, and outside counsel regarding case status and procedural matters.

Organize and manage electronic document management systems and case databases.

Assist attorneys with deposition summaries and case documentation as needed.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the litigation team and firm operations.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum of two (2) years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and PDF software.

Familiarity with document management systems such as iManage is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with a combination of in-office and remote work.

Regular use of a computer, including extended periods of typing and reviewing documents.

Ability to manage multiple case materials and electronic records simultaneously.

Work within a collaborative litigation team environment supporting complex legal matters.
