JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Sales Executive – Industrial Automation OEM to lead direct sales efforts within the Industrial Automation OEM vertical for our products and services. The successful candidate will manage OEM relationships for growth and identify new opportunities and projects and existing and new accounts.
POSITION SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVE
The primary function of this role is to accelerate growth at existing accounts, develop new business opportunities and deliver top-line revenue in a profitable manner consistent with budgeted requirements. This position will focus on developing and managing the Industrial Automation OEM customer base throughout North America, including automation equipment manufacturers, robotics and material handling OEMs, AGV/AMR manufacturers, industrial controls and equipment manufacturers, system integrators, contract manufacturers, and other organizations that incorporate battery and energy storage solutions into their products and systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with all stakeholders to develop strategies, set goals, implement sales plans, and deliver growth targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate within the core values supporting our mission and strategy.
- Create strong relationships with key client stakeholders including C-Suite influencers.
- Identify and close new opportunities for market share within the existing customer base and through a targeted group of prospective Industrial Automation OEM accounts.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies, manage client relationships, and oversee the sales process from prospecting to contract execution.
- Screen potential new business opportunities for strategic fit, potential, profitability and growth. Maintain pipeline of 3x sales target and report on prospective activity and results.
- Close new business opportunities by coordinating communications, deal requirements, negotiating contractual commitments and gaining necessary client commitments.
- Participate in strategic planning process to ensure alignment with goals.
- Understand the competitive landscape, market trends and channel structure to institute changes in response to changing market conditions.
- Maintain relevant professional and technical knowledge on industrial automation applications aligned with the relevant technology portfolio.
- Generate and execute customer growth plans while measuring success against targets.
- Manage administrative procedures in the sales process and supports cash collection and project management activities, where required.
- Prepare sales contracts, proposals, and reports for management of business opportunities.
- Attend industry conferences and trade shows to promote the brand and develop a network of potential influencers and customers.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities and customer requirements.
- Other duties as required and requested by senior management.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or a related field preferred, or 10+ years of demonstrated success in customer-facing sales roles with a proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
· Proven sales experience within the Industrial Automation OEM, robotics, material handling, industrial equipment, controls, or related industrial technology markets.
· Demonstrated success selling into OEM organizations and influencing engineering, product development, procurement, and executive decision-makers.
· Experience with battery technologies, energy storage systems, DC power, backup power, or related technologies strongly preferred.
· Technical understanding of industrial equipment, automation systems, robotics, controls, or other applications requiring reliable power solutions.
SKILLS
· Demonstrable negotiations skills and an effective sales process
· Enthusiastic, positive, initiative-taking and have strong leadership skills
· Strong verbal and written communications skills.
· Competency within Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
· Experience with CRM solutions for productivity, efficiency, and communications.
· Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/CONDITIONS REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to travel up to 40% of the monthly work hours.
