Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SiC and GaN Equipment Expert to join our advanced semiconductor fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in equipment used for the manufacturing of wide-bandgap semiconductors (SiC and GaN), including deposition, etch, annealing, ion implantation, and metrology tools. This role will be critical in supporting process development, equipment qualification, tool optimization, and yield improvement in both R&D and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for the installation, qualification, and operation of SiC and GaN processing equipment.

  • Collaborate with process engineers to define tool specifications and optimize process parameters for yield and performance.

  • Evaluate and select equipment suppliers for key process steps such as MOCVD, PVD, CVD, dry etch, RTP, and metrology.

  • Develop preventive maintenance plans and troubleshooting procedures to maximize tool uptime and performance.

  • Interface with vendors for tool upgrades, retrofits, and technical support.

  • Analyze equipment data and monitor SPC charts to detect deviations and prevent excursions.

  • Drive continuous improvement in tool performance, throughput, and process uniformity.

  • Support process integration and cross-functional efforts in bringing up new technologies or transitioning from R&D to pilot production.

  • Provide training and guidance to maintenance technicians and junior engineers.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with semiconductor equipment, specifically for SiC and/or GaN technologies.

  • Strong understanding of wide-bandgap semiconductor processing requirements and challenges.

  • Experience with high-temperature processing, hard material etching, and advanced metrology for compound semiconductors.

  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and semiconductor fab operations.

Preferred:

  • Experience in GaN-on-Si, GaN-on-SiC, or SiC MOSFET processing.

  • Knowledge of tool automation systems (SECS/GEM, MES integration).

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis tools (JMP, SPC, DOE).

  • Prior involvement in fab start-up or technology transfer is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

  • Self-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
