About the Role
A fast-growing technology consulting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Leader to drive net-new enterprise revenue and shape the company’s early go‑to‑market strategy.
This role is ideal for a true hunter who thrives in a high-autonomy, builder-style environment and is motivated by opening new markets, creating sales structure, and landing complex, multi-tower technology services deals.
You will sell into mid-market and enterprise organizations across technology, operations, finance, engineering, and digital transformation functions.
What You Will Do
1. New Business Acquisition (Primary Focus)
- Build and manage a pipeline of net-new enterprise prospects.
- Develop territory plans and execute outbound hunting strategies.
- Lead complex sales cycles from initial outreach to contract signature.
2. Consultative Solution Selling

Position a portfolio of technology and transformation services, including:
- Data & AI solutions
- Cloud migration and modernization
- ERP/SAP modernization
- Application development & systems integration
- Professional services and IT staffing

Translate business challenges into value-driven solutions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
3. Executive Stakeholder Engagement
Engage and influence leaders such as:
- CIO, CTO, CDO
- CFO, FP&A, and business finance
- VP of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations
- Digital Transformation and Operational Excellence leaders
4. Sales Strategy & GTM Development
- Help build early commercial structure: processes, messaging, and sales plays.
- Identify target markets and verticals; provide real-time market intelligence.
- Partner internally to shape packaged service offerings and case studies.
5. Proposal, Pricing & Deal Execution
- Lead proposal creation, RFP responses, and pursuit strategies.
- Collaborate with delivery, architecture, finance, and leadership teams.
- Support pricing models, SOW development, and negotiation.
6. Sales Operations & Forecasting
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and CRM hygiene.
- Recommend improvements that strengthen sales process and reporting.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5–7+ years of experience in business development within IT consulting, digital transformation services, or professional services/staffing.
- Proven hunter with a consistent record of closing net-new enterprise deals.
- Experience selling Data/AI, Cloud, ERP, or related technology services.
- Strong executive presence with experience selling into VP- and C-level organizations.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, lightly structured environments where building is required.
- Track record closing multi-million-dollar services engagements.
- Familiarity with manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or utilities sectors is a plus (not required).
- Midwest market experience strongly preferred.
