AWS Solutions Architect

Under minimal supervision, this role provides subject matter expertise for solving complex, challenging problems using existing and new technologies. Provides guidance and mentorship to more junior staff.

Develops, documents, and communicates descriptive and prescriptive architectures for a particular solution. Supports and assists the organization to implement complex technology solutions that solve business problems effectively and efficiently by architecting solutions, software, infrastructure, and/or database implementations. May solve highly technically complex problems and be called on to consult for other projects. Assists with the transfer of knowledge of technical skills. Viewed as a technical professional within the organization and is a key contributor.

Contributes to department- and organization-wide architectural patterns and standards. Works closely with Enterprise Architect(s) to align solutions architecture with System strategy and direction.

Responsibilities:

·        Works independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations, to make sound decisions. Typically works outside of standard procedures. Exercises considerable latitude when determining the Technical Responsibilities Strategic Responsibilities technical objectives of assignments. Completed work is reviewed for desired results.

·        Primarily accountable for selection of technologies for product development within a project.

·        Analyzes all non-functional requirements and ensures that further product engineering will meet them. Possesses knowledge of the company's existing architecture, technology, and solutions portfolio, and continually assesses its alignment with industry architecture standards and the organization technology portfolio.

·        Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

·        Assesses and documents business, enterprise, and technical architectures and capabilities to ensure they are aligned with organizational and strategic objectives.

·        Understands, supports, and socializes the business, technical, and architecture aspects of enterprise solutions that are complex, strategic, and high-profile.

·        Works closely with other architect resources in various phases of ideation, development, integration, testing, and, if needed, production support.

·        Researches, develops, documents, and recommends plans for investing in sound solution architecture principles and emerging technologies which will reduce cost, increase security, remove redundancies, and/or improve systems flexibility.

·        Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key external technology providers and business partners to keep current on industry Communication & Collaboration Leadership & Mentorship Other Duties Education and Experience Required (Select One) developments, emerging software trends, and shifts within the solutions and enterprise architecture community.

·        Assists in setting architectural direction/strategy for entire department and organization.

·        Works closely with Enterprise Architect(s) to ensure Solutions Architecture is in alignment with System strategy/direction.

Education:

Associates degree and 9+ years of related work experience OR

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related work experience OR

Master's degree and 5 years of related work experience

Technical Skills:

·        Concepts, techniques, approaches, and methods for application development

·        Solutions and enterprise architecture with the ability to analyze and resolve complex system issues and demonstrate an understanding of specific technologies (and their architectural connectivity)

·        Industry standard Architectural approaches (TOGAF, etc.)

·        Cloud Development and Architectural concepts

o   Solid experience with AWS

o   Azure experience is a bonus

·        Low Code development platforms, such as Microsoft Power Platform, Salesforce, and UiPath
