Technology Procurement Specialist

Summary

Forecast, plan, research, negotiate, and order technical inventory related to the hardware, software and services for company.  Maintain and record yearly maintenance/service agreements.  Track all software and services within the organization and ensure accuracy and compliance of inventoried items through periodic audits or other practices. Vendor and software license reviews and approval for terms and conditions of use. Document and maintain all procedural/policy documentation as needed. Contract Management for all vendors and/or suppliers for global SBS.  Assist in quarterly budgeting procedures with the Director, IT.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and work on contract details as required.
  • Research hardware and software requirements for all areas of the company as requests come in; ensure that best balance of price, quality, delivery, and vendor service is achieved.
  • Monitor supplier performance, work with suppliers on issue management; change suppliers as required.
  • Contract Management for all IT suppliers and vendors, including risk management for each supplier.
  • Assist in the budgeting process for SBS IT departments.
  • Create, track, and submit orders for purchase requisitions.
  • Research, request, and process all technology capital expenditures for SBS.
  • Track orders and approve invoices. 
  • Document and maintain procedural and policy documentation.
  • Follow ISO 27001 and other similar compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree – IT industry and Business Administration. 
  • Excellent Software negotiation and contract management skills a must.
  • A strong working understanding of computing hardware and software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (functions, pivot tables, charting, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software licensing (including open-source agreements) is a must.
  • Experience managing a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement is a plus.
  • CSAM, CPSM or similar technology procurement certification(s) a plus.
  • Experience managing enterprise cloud services (AWS, Azure) a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills a must.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability and eagerness to learn new processes quickly.
  • Ability to recommend and implement procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Close attention to detail.
