Senior Transportation Project Manager (Civil Engineering)
An established engineering consulting organization supporting public infrastructure programs is seeking a Senior Project Manager within its Transportation group. This role supports roadway and transportation design projects for public-sector clients and involves technical leadership, project management, and coordination with funding agencies.
The position is ideal for an experienced civil engineer who enjoys managing transportation projects from planning through design and construction support.
Key Responsibilities

Manage assigned transportation engineering projects including scope, budget, staffing, and production schedules.

Coordinate with public-sector clients and agencies regarding project funding programs, requirements, and compliance procedures.

Support development of technical proposals, change orders, and client agreements while maintaining ongoing project communication.

Lead preparation of roadway and transportation design plans for infrastructure improvement projects.

Develop corridor models and roadway geometry using industry-standard design software.

Prepare engineering drawings, construction plans, and project details using CAD-based platforms.

Perform design calculations, quantity takeoffs, and technical documentation.

Prepare technical reports and supporting project documentation.

Conduct site visits and field observations as part of design development or project oversight.

Assist with additional engineering or project coordination tasks as needed.
Technical Tools
Experience with the following software is beneficial:

Civil engineering CAD platforms (AutoCAD or similar)

Corridor modeling and roadway design tools (such as Civil3D)

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and related tools)
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related ABET-accredited engineering program.

Approximately 8–15 years of experience in transportation or roadway engineering.

Ability to visit project sites and comply with applicable safety procedures when performing field activities.

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana or ability to obtain licensure.
