We’re on the hunt for a dynamic Litigation Legal Assistant to join a team of seasoned trial attorneys, working on intricate civil and commercial cases in the CT/NY area. What You'll Do:
- Keep our legal team on track by managing calendars, scheduling proceedings, and tracking important deadlines.
- Showcase your attention to detail by drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal documents.
- Become an e-filing expert in CT/NY state and federal courts.
- Organize both physical and digital case files, ensuring everything is in its rightful place.
- Support discovery processes, including tracking schedules and coordinating production with involved parties.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Prepare for hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolutions by coordinating logistics and materials.
- Dive into research for factual and docket information.
- Assist with billing, time entry, and expense reports to keep financials in order.
- Contribute to firm and client development activities.
What You Bring:
- 3–5+ years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or paralegal in civil and commercial litigation.
- Hands-on experience with CT/NY court filings; federal e-filing familiarity is a bonus.
- A solid understanding of civil procedure and litigation workflow.
- Exceptional writing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Top-notch organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong client service skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, PDF tools, and case management software.
- Comfort with legal, medical, real estate, and business documents.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Education and Certifications:
- An Associate’s degree or paralegal certificate is preferred; equivalent experience is welcome.
- Being a Notary Public in CT/NY is a plus.
- Must be able to commute to the Greenwich, CT office with some flexibility in hours.
