The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate should include the following:
- Operate both CO₂ and Fiber flat sheet metal cutting lasers to produce high-precision, low-volume fabrications
- Perform independent machine setups and make real-time adjustments to ensure a flawless, quality cut
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and blueprints to confirm exact project specifications
- Utilize pin gauges, calipers, and other precision measurement devices to verify part dimensions and maintain ISO standards
- Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to load and unload sheet metal and position materials for cutting
- Follow detailed instructions from area supervisors while working collaboratively in a team-oriented shop environment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area according to 5S or similar lean manufacturing principles
The background of the successful candidate must include the following:
- 5+ years of professional experience operating industrial laser cutting machines
- Proven ability to perform complex machine setups and troubleshoot laser adjustments independently
- Strong proficiency in reading detailed technical drawings and utilizing precision measuring tools
- A reliable and consistent work history; attendance is critical to the success of this 2nd shift team
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active in a manufacturing setting
- Previous experience with Amada equipment and industrial material handling (cranes/forklifts) is highly desirable
- US citizenship or Green Card status with a residence within a 45-minute drive of West Bend
