Cost Accounting Analyst

This pivotal role involves analyzing cost movements, enhancing inventory reporting, and collaborating with diverse teams. We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical expertise, a background in cost accounting, and proficiency in SAP within manufacturing or logistics sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and auditor inquiries about costing, analyzing pegging, and cost fluctuations.
• Prepare journal entries, conduct account analysis, and reconcile inventory records.
• Improve inventory reporting through detailed analysis of material costs, labor, and overheads.
• Consolidate and report inventory balances by product line, including variance analysis and balance sheet classification.
• Maintain robust internal controls, update documentation, and support audit processes.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in cross-training initiatives.
• Support project management activities and conduct ad hoc financial analyses.
• Work closely with Procurement and Operations to ensure precise inventory costing and reporting.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 4 years of experience, OR
• Graduate degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, OR
• In lieu of a degree, 8 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in cost accounting within operations or manufacturing environments.
• Expertise in SAP, particularly in pegging and distribution in complex settings.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
