Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic design department. This position involves leading the design and analysis of structural projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure. The role demands a deep understanding of industrial steel and concrete design, encompassing equipment foundations, platforms, pipe racks, material handling systems, and large utilities. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing man-hour and material estimates for capital projects in collaboration with our preconstruction team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage structural design projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, safety, and quality standards.
  • Guarantee compliance with local and international building codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, civil engineers, and contractors for seamless project execution.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering professional growth and teamwork.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, design calculations, specifications, and documentation.
  • Conduct structural audits and inspections to ensure engineering precision and quality.
  • Integrate the latest advancements in structural engineering practices and software tools into projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience focusing on structural design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as SAP2000, STAAD, ETABS, RISA, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction methods.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in South Carolina, with the capability for reciprocity to other states preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior engineers and designers.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to site locations for commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
