This pivotal leadership role is designed for a seasoned professional who thrives in a challenging environment and possesses the expertise to manage audit engagements from inception through to completion. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) and Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS), along with robust corporate tax acumen.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive risk-based audit strategies.
• Perform detailed system reviews and evaluations of internal controls.
• Draft thorough risk assessments and audit plans.
• Lead and mentor audit teams through every stage of the audit process.
• Ensure all audits adhere strictly to CAS requirements.
• Oversee the review and completion of working paper files and financial statements.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to team members.
• Collaborate with clients to address complex accounting and taxation issues.
• Stay up-to-date with ASPE, corporate taxation, and industry best practices.
• Drive continuous enhancements in audit methodologies and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing, preferably with CPA Ontario.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in public accounting.
• Extensive expertise in ASPE, CAS, and corporate taxation.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong analytical and documentation capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in CaseWare, TaxPrep, and other audit-related tools.
