Are you a seasoned Structural Engineer with a passion for leadership and innovation? We're seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of Structural Department Manager, where you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of complex industrial projects and mentor a talented team of engineers.

This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities, including serving as the senior engineer on client projects and overseeing the growth and development of the structural department. You will be instrumental in ensuring project success through your technical expertise, strategic vision, and commitment to excellence.

Role Overview:

  • Lead the structural engineering team, focusing on industrial, chemical, petrochemical, polymer, manufacturing, and process facilities.
  • Manage departmental resources, ensuring alignment with project demands and organizational goals.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners to drive project success.
  • Maintain a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with relevant structural design codes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct, schedule, and allocate resources effectively within the department.
  • Lead and evaluate the performance of structural staff, supporting hiring and development initiatives.
  • Elevate department standards, workflows, and technical procedures.
  • Serve as a lead engineer for multidisciplinary projects, providing expert design solutions.
  • Conduct field visits, support construction activities, and review contractor bids.
  • Ensure all project deliverables adhere to internal and external standards.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active PE license with the ability to seal engineering documents.
  • A minimum of 10 years in consulting or 15 years in structural department experience.
  • Proven expertise in industrial structural design and team management.
  • Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, STAAD, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on-site at least three days per week.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Revit, Navisworks, or similar software.
  • Basic surveying skills and familiarity with laser scanning workflows.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid work schedule with some in-office requirements.
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required.
