Join us at a critical juncture as we establish a cutting-edge chemical manufacturing facility. This role is essential for ensuring safety from the ground up, offering the opportunity to shape safety standards in a dynamic and innovative environment. Immediate recruitment is underway, with the goal of filling this vital position within the next three weeks.

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead health, safety, environmental, and process safety initiatives at our new state-of-the-art specialty chemicals plant, currently under construction. This pivotal role involves overseeing safety during the construction phase and ensuring long-term safety and regulatory compliance once the plant is operational.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construction Phase: Manage safety protocols during construction, focusing on heavy lifts, hot work, work at height, and fire safety. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and handle emergency situations effectively.
  • Operational Phase: Develop and implement robust HSE and process safety management systems. Promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.

Working Conditions:

This position is based on-site with occasional travel required for audits, training, and project support. The role demands availability for emergency response and after-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health Safety, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in health, safety, environmental, and process safety management, ideally within the chemical or manufacturing sector.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, including OSHA PSM and the EPA Risk Management Program.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP and FMEA.
