Location: Victoria North, BC

Salary: Up to CAD 130,000

Are you driven by innovation and excellence in engineering? We are seeking a skilled Detector Engineer to join our dynamic Verification and Validation (V&V) team. You will play a crucial role in advancing our photon-counting detector technology, ensuring top-quality performance for photon-counting computed tomography (PCCT) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Validation and Application Engineering: Develop and implement test plans to optimize x-ray test protocols, establishing correlations between CT imaging performance and detector specifications.
  • Product Verification: Lead comprehensive product verification activities, including data acquisition, processing, and reporting, while ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance matrices.
  • Problem Solving: Employ advanced data analysis and structured problem-solving techniques to address test failures and customer reports, collaborating with the reliability team for root cause analysis.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, manufacturing, and QA teams to integrate verification and validation processes throughout product development.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in customer meetings and support activities, showcasing strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in testing or debugging complex hardware/software systems.
  • Proficiency in requirements management, with experience interfacing with design teams and maintaining verification traceability.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Competence in using statistical tools such as JMP.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and coding using MATLAB, Python, or similar software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in complex hardware, software, or firmware verification, particularly in detection or instrumentation products.
  • Background in mixed-signal electronic device testing or design, especially with mixed-signal ASICs.
  • Hands-on experience with x-ray detectors or semiconductor devices.
  • Familiarity with product development and validation in ISO9001 and/or ISO13485 environments.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems or electrical engineering, engineering physics, physics, biophysics, or a related field is preferred.
