We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Baltimore, MD. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of plant equipment, buildings, and facilities in a unionized environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to working with maintenance staff and instrumentation technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Maintenance Staff: Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians, electricians, and instrumentation technicians. Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established procedures.
  • Planned and Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment and facilities. Adhere to maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Compliance and Safety: Enforce safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with instrumentation technicians to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Identify and implement process optimizations, efficiency enhancements, and cost-saving measures.
  • Union Relations: Maintain positive relationships with union representatives and comply with collective bargaining agreements. Address employee concerns and grievances constructively and collaboratively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably in a chemical manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience with unionized work environments and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety regulations, environmental standards, and maintenance best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a talent for motivating and inspiring team members.
  • Proficient in developing maintenance strategies, SOPs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in managing maintenance budgets and understanding budget management principles.
