Our client is a Private Equity-backed, high-growth SaaS software company. They are looking for a VP of Payments  to lead their payments strategy and drive revenue growth

As the VP of Payments, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of payments within a dynamic, fast-paced B2B SaaS environment. Reporting to the CEO, this position offers a unique blend of strategic leadership and hands-on execution, ideal for a seasoned payments professional who has experience making a significant impact in a high-growth SaaS organization.  

What You Will Do:

 

  • Drive payments revenue growth scaling from ~$5m to $50m ARR, with a focus on maximizing adoption and utilization.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive payments strategy aligned with overall business objectives
  • Own the Payments P&L, ensuring alignment with company financial goals
  • Design and implement go-to-market strategies for payment products, including pricing, marketing, and product positioning
  • Identify additional financial services that the company can leverage across their customer base, building out business cases and collaborating cross functionally to ensure executive alignment before executing successfully.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to deliver an integrated payments experience
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing payments team
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics for the Payments function
  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities  
  • Foster strong relationships with companies with complimentary products ie: payment networks, processors etc. to drive innovative growth in current and emerging revenue streams
  • Navigate the regulatory landscape to ensure compliance while pursuing aggressive growth targets
 

What You Bring:

 

  • Extensive experience in leadership, business building, and working cross-functionally within high-growth SaaS or software companies
  • Deep experience in embedded payments 
  • Demonstrated success in building payments go to market strategy within a PE-backed Vertical SaaS organization, with an exit being a plus
  • Experience with payment monetization strategies, including pricing, go-to-market execution, and scaling revenues
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams
  • Data-driven mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding collaboration and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for innovative fintech solutions
  • Hands-on approach suited to a high-growth environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of influencing and inspiring both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking balanced with tactical execution capabilities
  • Experience working with Stripe or Adyen is a plus.
