Chief Business Officer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Business Officer (CBO) to join our executive team. The CBO will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s business strategy, driving growth, and securing the financial resources necessary to support our ambitious goals. This individual will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to ensure the alignment of business objectives with the company’s mission and long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies to drive growth and achieve financial objectives. Collaborate with the executive team to define and execute the company’s strategic direction.

  • Business Development: Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and industry leaders.

  • Financial Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Ensure the company has the financial resources necessary to achieve its strategic goals. Manage investor relations and lead fundraising efforts, including venture capital and strategic partnerships.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive operational efficiency and effectiveness across the organization. Implement best practices in business operations, project management, and resource allocation.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to inform business strategies. Identify emerging trends and opportunities in the biotech and genetic medicine sectors.

  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business development and finance team. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team and across the organization.

  • Regulatory and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. Support the preparation of regulatory submissions and interactions with regulatory agencies.

  • Corporate Development: Lead corporate development activities, including mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, and joint ventures. Assess and integrate potential acquisition targets to support growth objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chief Business Officer or in a similar executive role within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
  • Strong background in business development, corporate strategy, and financial management.
  • Well-networked in the investment community, with demonstrated success in raising capital and securing strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of the biotech and genetic medicine landscape, including market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA or PhD is preferred.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary in the range of $200,000 to $300,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Opportunity for a 20% performance-based bonus, reflecting the company's commitment to rewarding exceptional contributions.
  • Equity participation in the range of 3-5%, providing a stake in the company's success and alignment with long-term growth objectives.
