About the Role
Our client is hiring a hands-on AI Architect to lead a greenfield rebuild of their core Student Information System (SIS). This platform supports scheduling, rostering, billing, and student assessments across education programs.You’ll play a critical role in applying agentic AI to modernize a complex legacy system and define the future-state architecture.
Location: Atlanta, GA (While this is a Hybrid role - to apply you must currently live in Atlanta Ga)
What You’ll Do
- Own architecture and engineering strategy for the SIS rebuild
- Design AI-driven systems using LLMs and agent-based frameworks
- Build and lead a team of 5–6 engineers
- Contribute hands-on to development (player-coach role)
- Partner with Product and business stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Architect / Principal Engineer experience
- Prior team leadership experience (required)
- Strong hands-on engineering background
- Experience building or working with AI/ML systems, ideally agent-based or LLM-driven applications
- Strong cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
- Backend development experience (Java or Node.js preferred)
Nice to Have:
- SIS or EdTech experience
- Java/Spring Boot (legacy system exposure)
- Experience with system modernization or migrations
