The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Commvault Backup Systems and Windows Server Engineer to play a critical role in the stability, security, and resilience of our enterprise IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex backup, recovery, and Windows server environments across a large-scale, geographically distributed enterprise.

This is a hands-on role that requires deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and close collaboration with infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity teams.

What You Will Do

  • Administer and support Windows Server environments (physical and virtual) with 3–5 years of hands-on experience.

  • Diagnose and resolve Windows OS, server software, hardware, and basic networking issues.

  • Troubleshoot complex backup, recovery, and data protection issues across enterprise environments.

  • Support and maintain Commvault enterprise backup solutions, including CommCell administration, media agents, storage libraries, job troubleshooting, and reporting.

  • Design, implement, and maintain backup, restore, and redundancy strategies for mission-critical systems, including VM-based backups and primary/auxiliary copy architectures.

  • Develop and manage backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies aligned with business, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide analytics, usage metrics, capacity planning, and reporting within the Commvault management platform.

  • Monitor server performance, manage file permissions, and administer Active Directory and Group Policy.

  • Collaborate with operations teams to meet RTO/RPO objectives and support restore and data replication requests.

  • Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management of backup and recovery infrastructure.

  • Apply security updates and patches to backup-related servers and appliances in accordance with federal and enterprise security requirements.

  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to validate and maintain secure server and backup environments.

What You Will Need

  • Strong expertise in Commvault data protection solutions, including performing upgrades, patches, and critical fixes (Commvault certification is a plus).

  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server platforms, storage technologies, and LAN/WAN networking fundamentals.

  • Experience with VMware virtualization, Active Directory, and enterprise server administration.

  • Familiarity with tools used in complex enterprise environments, such as remote support tools, asset management, imaging and deployment systems, patching solutions, endpoint protection, and backup/restore platforms.

  • Ability to perform security-related tasks, including documentation, assessments, patch management, auditing, and compliance support.

  • Experience collaborating with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure and compliant infrastructure.

  • Experience with Dell server and storage systems is a plus.

  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid, team-oriented environment.
